Maui Wildfires
Responding to the Maui Wildfires
Chadwell Supply is proud to support the heroic efforts of people working tirelessly to help communities devastated by the deadly Hawaii wildfires. This disaster has claimed more than 100 lives, making it the deadliest U.S. wildfire in more than 100 years. Many who survived were left without food, water, shelter, and other essentials. Thankfully, there are many skilled volunteers ready, willing, and able to provide those necessities and meet the spiritual and emotional needs of those left hurting.
The scope of the devastation in Hawaii is vast and feels overwhelming. No single organization can meet all the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. That’s why Chadwell Supply has chosen to invest in the good work being done by three outstanding organizations. We’re grateful for their incredible efforts alleviating suffering, bringing families back together, and helping people heal.
Project Dynamo
Tampa-based nonprofit Project Dynamo is an incredible veteran-led organization that helps people impacted by natural disasters and political unrest around the world. After hearing about the devastation caused by the tragic wildfires in Hawaii, Project Dynamo founder, Bryan Stern, and a team of volunteers flew to the islands to help people struggling to recover and reconnect with loved ones.
They loaded supplies and conducted helicopters drops of humanitarian aid to more remote or difficult to reach areas. With road conditions changing daily, Stern’s team proved an invaluable asset to aid workers delivering food, medical supplies, and other necessities, as well as to the teams conducting search efforts.
Project Dynamo volunteers have also been hard at work helping worried people on the island and around the world find and connect with loved ones. Anyone affected by the fires still trying to reach a family member is encouraged to request a search through Project Dynamo’s website.
Hundreds of people are still missing and many more have lost everything but their lives. You can donate to Project Dynamo to help them meet immediate needs, make connections, and provide comfort.
American Red Cross of Hawaii
Another organization on the ground responding to immediate needs and helping people rebuild their lives after these deadly wildfires is the Red Cross. Hundreds of Hawaii Red Cross volunteers are working with partners to help as many people as possible as fast as possible. They are…
- Moving relief supplies to the areas of Maui most affected by the fires.
- Keeping 11 shelter facilities up and running, providing more than 4,000 shelter stays and counting.
- Distributing more than 25,000 meals and snacks.
- Helping people get and stay connected with free Wi-Fi.
In addition to meeting the immediate needs of good food, clean water, and safe housing, Hawaii Red Cross volunteers have processed more than 1,300 welfare requests, helping families locate missing loved ones. Volunteers have also come together to offer spiritual and emotional care for those who need it, offering counsel and comfort in the face of unimaginable tragedy and loss.
Nearly all the funding the Red Cross uses to help people in need after a disaster is provided by corporate and individual donations. Volunteers say that work is just beginning. Their teams will be here for months helping people put their lives back together.

Matthew 25: Ministries
The mission of Matthew 25: Ministries is to “fulfill Matthew 25:34-40 by providing nutritional food, clean water, shelter, clothing, medical care, and humanitarian supplies.” The organization exists to “Be a place where all people can come together and work toward a common goal of helping those in need.”
Matthew 25 Ministries CEO Tim Mettey defines their mission even more succinctly: “We help people.”
The group also works to “educate the public on the conditions of people in need around the world and provides resources for people to take action to meet specific needs.” When they saw the horrific images of communities destroyed by the wildfires in Hawaii, “take action” is exactly what Tim and his team did. They…
- Shipped essential supplies to impacted areas of Maui.
- Dispatched their Disaster Response Team to assist with distribution of much-needed aid.
- Assisted teams already on the ground respond to ongoing needs.
“The devastation is heartbreaking… Everyone who has been affected will have a long and challenging recovery. We are grateful to our corporate product donors, financial donors, and volunteers who make it possible for us to help during times of need…” Mettey said.

National Christian Foundation
It is often difficult to know how best to help people affected by tragedies and suffering loss - especially when the devastation is so far from home. Unfortunately, stories of fraud and misuse of well-intentioned donations is something we've all witnessed and it makes it hard to know how to donate and feel confident that your resources are reaching those who need help.
NCF is a wonderful organization that facilitates giving to some of the most responsible, and impactful organizations from Samaritans Purse to YWAM and so many more. NCF supports more than 90,000 charities and churches world wide.
